Catch Me If You Can

The editor
This is an absolute masterpiece and an easy 5-star film! Leonardo DiCaprio delivers a phenomenal performance, perfectly capturing the charm, wit, and underlying vulnerability of Frank Abagnale Jr. It is truly incredible—almost a miracle—to witness how such a young, brilliant con artist managed to navigate so many elaborate schemes and ultimately turn his entire life around. The direction is flawless, perfectly balancing a thrilling pace with a deeply captivating true story. A brilliantly executed cinematic experience from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Coda

The editor
CODA is an absolutely fantastic masterpiece that deserves a full 5-star rating. It tells the deeply moving story of a deaf family and their total reliance on their only hearing daughter, Ruby, for their daily survival and their grueling fishing business. Without her support, the family faces a literal and existential "bankruptcy." However, the film's true heart lies in the realization that every child has their own life to pursue. Despite her initial strong resistance, the mother eventually understands her daughter's needs, and the father ultimately finds the courage to let Ruby follow her dreams. A powerful lesson for every parent on the importance of letting go so their children can soar.

Andor 2

Bianca
To much political dialog. Andor 1 is better

The Fabelmans

The editor
The Fabelmans is a masterpiece that proves great cinema is truly universal. It powerfully depicts a close-knit Jewish family facing the reality of prejudice—an animosity that often stems from envy toward their talent and resilience. Beyond the social context, it’s a deeply human story about marriage struggles and family dynamics. The most vital takeaway is that parents must never stifle their children's dreams; it is that very support that allows a son to turn his vision into reality. A beautifully crafted film for everyone, regardless of their background.

Project Hail Mary

The editor
The mystery at the heart of Project Hail Mary is a microscopic organism called Astrophage. Like a cosmic "space-mold," it was literally eating our Sun’s light—and spreading to neighboring stars—threatening to freeze our world into extinction. The mission to Tau Ceti wasn't just a search for a cure; it was a desperate hunt for the one star that found a way to survive. By discovering Taumoeba—the natural predator that keeps the "star-eaters" in check—Ryland Grace found the "medicine" our Sun needed. But the true discovery wasn't biological; it was the unexpected friendship with Rocky, an extraterrestrial who collaborated to collect the Taumoeba to be sent back to Earth. In a world often divided by war and dispute, this story reminds us that our Earth is a fragile home worth saving. If two beings from different galaxies can sacrifice everything to save each other’s worlds, we certainly have no excuse to destroy our own. Love and curiosity will always go further than conflict.

Fallout 2

The editor
Editor’s Choice: Why Fallout is Prime’s Boldest Success Yet In the current landscape of high-budget television, Fallout stands out as arguably one of the finest series produced by Prime Video in recent memory. It is a production that can confidently be compared to the "big players" in the industry, proving that Amazon has finally cracked the code for a truly top-tier adaptation. Prime definitely got it right this time. What makes this series remarkable isn't just its high production quality—which is evident in every frame—but the fact that the story maintains its momentum and continues to grow even further as we move into Season 2. It is important to note, however, that this is not a "light meal" for casual consumption. The genre itself, combined with the depth of the narrative, requires a high level of engagement from the viewer. It is a dense, gritty, and rewarding experience that might not be for everyone, but for those willing to invest the time, it is a masterclass in world-building.

Burn Notice (Duro a morire) 7

Bianca
Hellerious!

Hamnet

elsan
The film's central theme is Will and Agnes's mourning for the loss of their eleven-year-old son. Grief divides them, and each finds their own way to cope. She through her primordial, intimate connection with nature; he through artistic transfiguration. Thus, from a death, William Shakespeare's masterpiece, Hamlet, is born. The director makes the courageous and significant choice not to focus the expression of grief solely on close-ups, which are rare in the film and often feature faces in shadow. This choice signifies that Agnes and Will's grief is not merely private, but becomes the grief of an entire community, expressed in the evocative final scene of the audience reaching out to the stage. A powerful film, a testament to the director's skill and the talent of the actors. Highly recommended!

The Rip

The editor
RIP is watchable but ultimately feels like an average Netflix release. Despite a strong cast and a surprisingly good ending, the film doesn’t quite live up to the expectations that the celebrities involved naturally create.

Call Me by Your Name

The editor
"Call Me by Your Name," directed by Luca Guadagnino, is a coming-of-age story set in the sun-drenched Italian summer of 1983. It charts the intense, fleeting first love between 17-year-old Elio and the American graduate student Oliver. While the film’s deliberate pace might not suit all viewers, its profound emotional impact is undeniable. The narrative culminates in one of cinema’s most important and moving parental counsels: a clear message from Elio’s father that we must have the courage to live a passionate life and embrace love fully, even when it results in pain and heartbreak. To feel nothing, so as not to feel anything, would be a "waste." This message about the value of deep human connection and vulnerability is the film’s timeless, universal heart.

Frankenstein (2025)

The editor
Guillermo del Toro’s FRANKENSTEIN is, without a doubt, a modern masterpiece. It transcends the B-movie monster trope we've been conditioned to expect, instead delivering a deeply human, profoundly heartbreaking portrait that is loyal to the soul of Mary Shelley's original novel. Jacob Elordi’s Creature is not a savage beast, but a sentient, tragically abandoned being whose loneliness and innate goodness are met with the world's cruelty. This sumptuous, Gothic work is fundamentally a story of parenthood, ambition, and neglect—one that finds the true monster not in the stitched flesh, but in the cold heart of the man who created him. A stunning, essential five-star film.

A Monster Calls

The editor
I really loved this story; its emotional impact is incredible. My strong feeling is that the Monster's presence wasn't just about Conor's imagination, but that it belonged to his mother in some way. It feels like she knew this truth-telling figure, and that the Monster came to Conor not to save her, but to help him accept what she already faced. The final reveal in the sketchbook confirms this profound and heartbreaking connection. It's a masterful way to deal with grief.

Hotel Costiera

Bianca
This is an easy to watch series. The Italian vibe is nice and a bit of humour. This is good if you want something not to heavy.

One Battle After Another

The editor
While One Battle After Another arrived with significant critical acclaim and is anchored by Leonardo DiCaprio’s consistently laudable performance, the experience ultimately felt uneven. The primary issue lies in a formulaic narrative arc that, through much of the first half, prevents the story from achieving genuine dramatic tension. However, the film executes a compelling late-stage resurgence—a much-needed injection of unexpected action and consequence in the second half—which finally gives DiCaprio’s talents the material they deserve and elevates the overall viewing experience.

Black Rabbit

the editor
I've just finished watching Black Rabbit on Netflix, and I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5. While it might not be a top-tier masterpiece, the performances from Jude Law and Jason Bateman are fantastic and really carry the show. It's a tense, dark thriller that's definitely worth checking out for a few hours."

The Sandman 2

Bianca

Black Bag

The editor
Steven Soderbergh strikes again with "Black Bag," a compelling spy thriller starring the magnificent Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender. As a married couple of secret agents, they find themselves in a dangerous game where professional secrets threaten to destroy their life together. Soderbergh builds suspense with brilliant dialogue and an intelligent plot, focusing more on psychological tension than explosive action. Blanchett and Fassbender deliver intense performances, making the difficult balance between love and suspicion believable. "Black Bag" is a stylish and smart thriller that will keep you hooked until the very last scene. A must-see for genre fans and anyone who appreciates great acting.

The Residence

Bianca
It is hilarious! Love it.

Mickey 17

the editor
Bong Joon-ho, known for his critically acclaimed films like "Parasite" and "Snowpiercer," brings his unique vision and storytelling to this slow starting, but ending in crescendo movie. The idea of an "Expendable" who is repeatedly cloned comes out to be a question of identity, mortality, and the value of human life and other spices.

The Boys 5
