  1. Guillermo del Toro’s FRANKENSTEIN is, without a doubt, a modern masterpiece. It transcends the B-movie monster trope we've been conditioned to expect, instead delivering a deeply human, profoundly heartbreaking portrait that is loyal to the soul of Mary Shelley's original novel.

Jacob Elordi’s Creature is not a savage beast, but a sentient, tragically abandoned being whose loneliness and innate goodness are met with the world's cruelty. This sumptuous, Gothic work is fundamentally a story of parenthood, ambition, and neglect—one that finds the true monster not in the stitched flesh, but in the cold heart of the man who created him. A stunning, essential five-star film.
